I was torn between giving a bad review and a decent review. Under Amazon's terms and conditions the author/publishing company accepts reviews from validated purchases so here goes mine... This book is a "listener's guide," disclosed in the description. But the product description states: "briefly covers the creation and format of the series" and that is an understatement. Two pages max (of 143 pages) is devoted to the history of the program, half of which concerns the cast and not the program itself. As disclosed: "the idea is to listen to the original episodes as you read through the book" so unless your goal is to listen to the 30+ episodes and read along in the book and read the author's critical review, this is not the book for you. Yes, I was seeking a production history of the series. No, this is not that book. Worse, the author consulted two websites (Karl Schadow's three-part article about DARK FANTASY from the mwotrc website was one of them) and if you google that three-part article, you will find all you need to know about the 1941-42 radio horror program. Karl did a fantastic job researching, and is far more accurate than any other website on the internet. Had Karl published his findings as an eBook and not as a three-part article in a scholarly OTR magazine, I would have gladly paid $14.99.Perhaps the worst part is not the author's "best and worst" episodes, getting into subjective territory, or a page devoted to the author's reminiscences of growing up in Dayton, Ohio, but his incorrect claim that historians and scholars of old-time radio “will argue to death that their trivia and history is the correct one, disparaging each other along the way.” Nothing could be further from the truth. The majority of OTR historians gather frequently for dinner at fan gatherings and nostalgia conventions, even arranging to meet up and chat about the hobby in general whenever we travel out of state for research projects. Many of us even assist each other with research. On two separate occasions when a researcher did not have enough funds for travel and copy fees, their research trip was funded by the others. Author Brian Schell providing the false impression that there is animosity among historians and researchers of old-time radio no doubt originates from the one and only historian of OTR to whom Mr. Schell cites as his other source of information about DARK FANTASY -- that historian, incidentally, is not well-respected for their habit of bad-mouthing other historians in the academic field in an effort to make himself look good. But author Brian Schell forgot the idiom that one should not believe everything they read on the internet. But then again, he admits he consulted the internet as reference.Last week I purchased another eBook that turned out to be a cut and paste from Wikipedia. Brian Schell did not do that here but two pages of history and material copied from other websites by the author's own admission? Why pay for a book that?

It doesn't get any better than this: stories from the people who lived it. A must-read for every fan of WWII history.

I loved this book! I have read many books on World War II, but none have been quite like this one. The first-person accounts from mostly ordinary people are filled with small details that really make their stories come alive. Contributors include people who experienced the war from a variety of perspectives such as those who were young children when Hitler came to power and war broke out, as well as men and women who served their countries during the conflict. There are reports from people of many different nations, including women who worked as Land Girls, children who survived the Holocaust, youth who fought with the Resistance in Italy and France, men who were captured by the Japanese army, and a boy who was living in Hiroshima when the bomb was dropped there. Some of the narratives are only a couple of paragraphs, while a few are several pages. Most of them are just a couple of pages long.The book is well organized with chapters on the British Homefront, the Resistance, Women at War, The Holocaust, The Fall of Japan and many other topics. The text is enhanced by many black and white photographs. A subject index, an index of contributors and a glossary are included at the end of the book.One could use this book as a reference to learn about just one aspect of the war, but each story is worth reading. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about this important event in history.Although most of the accounts are told in such a way that they are accessible to all ages, there is some content that may not be appropriate for young children. I couldn’t help but to think of how different those children’s lives were from my carefree childhood. I believe this book is best suited for middle school ages and above due to the intense subject matter that one would expect on this topic. Less if you are a fast reader. Being so, the book is perfect to re/read on the bus, on the toilet, on a trip, on a coffee break, lunch break. Anytime you do, it will be wonderful.I think that this being a classic old book, and a very short book indeed, the price should be more reasonable. Say about 3 bucks.

My father knew this woman as a young adult, so I purchased the book. I had heard "There's a Hole in My Sidewalk" a number of seminars over the year and presenters never give Ms. Nelson as the author. I enjoyed the poetry and the perspective.

As someone else said, this is a VERY simple book, but that is good. It's not a book in the sense that it's filled with a bunch of words, sentences, chapters,etc. No, it is a series of different poems that relate to each of the 5 main chapters of what they book is about...which is confidence/self-esteem. I read most of the poems as they applied to me, I could relate to almost all of them. When you read them, you think, that's pretty lame, that's so silly, then...you're like...man....that's ME!! I do that!!! It's not a book or poems that's going to fix you, or tell you what to do to fix yourself, but for me, it was an eye opener on what I am doing, and what i need to stop doing, stop worrying about. Anyway, I got a lot from it, I hope you do too.

This book is just a printed infomercial for Options Moneymaker online services. If you join, then fine. As a stand alone guide for options trading in general it's not much help.

Charts and examples are hard to read due to small font sizes. As an options beginner found the examples hard to follow. The book is a precursor to a training subscription service.

This is a very upsetting read, I am actually offended because it reads just like the transcript to a pyramid scheme seminar. Do not buy this, you have been warned! Here are a few facts about the book. 1. This book is not about 'more profits in less time', nor is it about retirement security and financial liberation as the cover claims. This is a book about spreads and chart reading- that is all. And my opinion is that it even does this poorly as you will see in the next points. 2. The author consistently attempts to convince readers that the author's company "Options Money Maker" is somehow special and that they have developed unique trading techniques such as the "COMBO" and the "Market Tamer". In reality, these techniques are widely known (by options traders) by typical names such as the Condor. Renaming known tools is not educational, it is distracting (this is my opinion of course). Finally, 3. The book is not professional in any sense, and has no publishing company cited. This equates to having repetitive stock images and image prints which are nearly unreadable. It is also clear that the book was written to be printed in color, and was not in the end- this makes several of the chart reading points useless.Look elsewhere if you want an actual education in options. Good luck!

I have not trade options and wanted to learn more on the strategies for profitable trading. This book gives a clear explanation of how to trade options using multiple strategies. For each strategy, it provides examples of how to approach a trade for a successful outcome. After reading the book, now I have a better understanding of the strategies to trade options. This book is also a good reference for those who have been trading options and provides additional web site resources. I have not used the additional web sites provided in this book.

Well, Melanie, you did it! You crafted an exciting, beautiful and satisfying series from beginning to end! I was thrilled with the way Highland Queen ended. These characters, based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, came alive for me and the intertwining of the old ways with the Christianity of the time was perfect! This is a series well worth reading and if any new reader is considering it, don’t just download one or buy one. Get them all at the same time. You will not stop reading once you start. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Ms. Karsak. Oh, her steampunk series is every bit as amazing!

Many thanks to the author. I just spent 3 days on a wonderful trip. Love your handling ofShakespeare ’ s story. I didn’t put the series down until I finished it. Couple of all nighters in there. A few typos to deal with but nothing could take away from the story. It would be nice if you would make it a longer series by carrying on with the children. It was one of those stories that after I finished it I spent the whole day going over the story in my head. Loved,loved the series. Thanks for a wonderful vacation without leaving my chair.

Let's qualify; I was hoping for a guide-book (textbook quality) that I could offer as a reference and learning tool to my employees. What I got was a junior-high-school level handbook to double-entry accounting.This is no "ultimate" guide. If you're a non-accounting person, you *might* get some advice and/or a learning opportunity from this pamphlet (that's right -- it's a pamphlet, not a book). Else forget it, and utilize on-line resources and print them out.I've rarely been taken hook-line-and-sinker by a textbook publisher before; but then, these people aren't textbook publishers, they're hustlers.I returned this product, and Amazon gave me a refund. But I'm still out $4.25 for the return shipping. Don't make the same mistake I did.

This book is worse than useless. It is too superficial and covers nothing in any meaningful depth to be useful at all. Rather than covering fundamental accounting topics, this book chooses to fill a lot of space with useless drivel such as various profiles of accountants including where they went to school. Worst of all, this book contains a ton of serious errors that detract from its trustworthiness. For example, it stated that the lower receivable turnover the better when in fact the opposite is true. It also stated that the cost of equity is equal to the dividend yield of the common stock. If that were true, then companies like Google that do not pay a dividend would have zero cost of equity and can raise unlimited funds by simply issuing lots of common stock? Everyone knows that is simply not true and that the cost of equity should be calculated using the CAPM formula. Do not waste your time with this book.
