Bought her book after watching her on YouTube for so long. She doesn’t give exact measurements in her videos so I figured buying her book and cooking along while watching would be fun. She has quite a personality on her channel and it really pours out into the book as well. I love it! She’s so much fun and this book was super easy to follow. Can’t wait to try the ribs Gordon Ramsay sucked clean from the bone.My only wish is that it would be in US measurements. Every recipe is through the UK measuring system. Again, she is in London so it only makes sense that it would be, I can’t knock it for that. Thankfully, Google makes it easy to convert. Worth the money but keep that in mind before buying if you aren’t as patient in that area.It is not “soul food†by the Americans standard either. We are thinking Texas/Louisiana/Mississippi style and honestly, I think she uses the term “soul food†to mean “comfort foodâ€. Again, recipes are good, but not that real down south cooking! I think for bland UK food, this is a huge step up so not knocking it.I would recommend this to somebody, especially people who may not know how to cook, because it is super easy to follow, and again, you can follow along with her as she does it with her YouTube videos. I’m pretty good in the kitchen, and even I learned something from the book. All in all, it was a good purchase and I am happy.
Loved her on the BBC with Gordon Ramsey, it's a shame her restaurant didn't flourish after he left,it did for awhile but for some reason she closed it down. I loved her spirit and her food looked amazingand her book is something I'll cherish forever, her food and her recipes. A suggested buy for sure

Great Book
I was quite excited to see this cookbook offered as I had watched Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares when Charita's failing restaurant was featured. It was, however, disappointing as it is geared to the British palate and not anything at all like the Soul food I've grown to love in the South (US) and throughout the United States. The author has been away too long. I don't consider her recipes to be authentic Soul food. Very disappointing to say the least.
Momma certainly spiced the England's often over criticized bland food (I love many things about the U.K. including the food, although Islam has such a foothold the once great nation will soon fall to Mu-Ham-Head). Now where I live Australia, the food is the PITS!!! Momma we need you here bigtime.
