I have a 1990 Chevy K2500 with a 350 engine and I have been doing a lot of work on it the past few years… and it’s getting a crate engine in spring. It seems every time I need to do something one manual rarely gives me everything I need. I needed both books in doing the year drum brakes; throttle body rebuild; sensor checks & replacement; replacing the oil cooler lines; and replacing an oil pressure sender. It may not seem like much but sometimes one book will just have that picture that explains it all while the other doesn’t have one at all. I purchased my books used on halfcom and since it’s only new when you first open it I have found used to be fine and the price is right. Even though I’m not 100% satisfied with either manual I’m still going with 5-stars because if it only helps me once then it’s paid for itself. I’m about 40-miles from a parts store so most of those have been coming from Amazon and that’s working pretty good.

This is Chilton General Motors repair manual number 28624. On the cover is printed that it covers Chevy & GMC trucks up to the year 1998. That is slightly misleading - it also covers trucks manufactured during the first half of 1999, up to the newer model change that is covered in the Chilton manual number 28625 - for late model 1999 thru 2006 trucks.If you are lucky like me, LOL, and own one of those 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 "Classic" pick ups turned out by Detroit in the first half of the year 1999 then Chilton manual 28624 is for you.

The more I learn about vehicles, the less I like about Chilton's notes. It does describe the basic of the automobiles, but with the introduction fo the internet, I can actually watch people do the job. I bought this to work on some specific of a 1993 K1500, but noticed that the CV joint comments and pictures were extremely limited and the fluid level checks for a manual transmission are almost void. It seems the part that you wish to repair is always the least talked about parts in the book. The book is good for general parts inspections, but limited where I needed it. I found better parts diagrams in LMC truck, which enhanced the Chilton drawings. It's a CHILTON which means it is GOOD, just not as GOOD as the internet that populates massive videos and how-to drawings. The book was in great shape as well the vendor.

Excellent book with very detailed coverage and keynotes for each year. I've always preffered this over Hanes manuals. The only downside to so much detail is that they kinda overcrowded some areas. For 95% of the book it's great, but the few diagram areas are pretty tiny and not for old eyes. Great otherwise. See example picture.

I have previously been very disappointed with many repair manuals (other than Chilton) that have for instance:- very vague instructions like "year model 1973 shown, others may vary" when the model I'm working on is like from another planet rendering the instructions completely useless- blurry black and white photos where you cannot tell if they shot a picture of a steam engine or a car part leave alone make any use of the photo- manuals that outright do NOT cover certain engine/transmission/equipment or their combinations. For instance for a -96 320iA BMW with the single VANOS M50B20 engine I was supposed to purchase two books: one of the newer e39 BMW body type for the engine and another for the rest of the e36 model car. Needless to say I did not.Because of that my hopes were not high as I purchased the Chilton manual, especially since my truck is one of the last ones to use the old 5.7 smallblock engine, using DI instead of HEI ignition and equipped with the less common heavy duty 4L80-E transmission. I was sure that Chilton would not cover my truck at all and would just say "1994-95 models differ, consult the owner's manual" or something as idiotic.Well, what do you know? The Chilton manual actually acknowledges that these trucks have indeed had a lot of different engines (V6,V8 smallblock,V8 bigblock, several different Vortex engines and two diesels) and they have had different variations such as the HEI/DI ignition mentioned above, and the Chilton manual actually DOES COVER each and every different variation and how they differ from each other, with very clearly drawn pics and diagrams instead of blurry photos. No more guessing involved!Each section is clearly labeled so that you will know exactly what you are supposed to be doing with your particular year model and engine type and repairing and servicing the truck is therefore very easy. Even the fault codes are listed for all years and combinations and explained with unprecedented detail.As you can guess, I'm not just positively surprised by the Chilton manual but utterly and completely pleased. This is how a repair manual is supposed to be done.If I would absolutely _have_ to find something negative to say about the manual then the only fault I've found is that the ignition timing chart is blank and you're told to refer to the sticker in the air cleaner. In many cases those stickers can be worn off or the air cleaner unit changed by a previous owner so you would have nothing but Google and truck forums to refer to. Luckily this was not the case in my truck but nevertheless that is clearly a minus, I believe this kind of vital information should be included. (BTW for the 5.7EFI the timing advance is set to zero with the electric advance wire unplugged if someone there is looking for that info)So yes, if you have a 1988-1998 GMT400 body full-size truck, this is certainly money well spent and you will earn your investment back tenfold with the very first faulty sensor that you replace yourself.

I have used Chilton & Haynes repair manuals for years. I have always owned one or the other (or sometimes both) for every vehicle I have owned, plus some for family vehicles, as I am the "fix-it guy". Imagine my disappointment when I discovered that this particular manual didn't have the information in it for my truck (a 1997 Chevy) OR my Tahoe (a 1999). So what did I have to do? Buy a Chilton Manual. It had a little more accurate info, however it didn't cover everything either? What did I end up having to do? Buy a Haynes manual for a 1999-2006 Chevy Pickup, and it had the info I needed for the electrical, interior etc. (although not everything), but the info for the body was not right for my truck or Tahoe. I even took the time to contact Haynes, and their "tech support" was trying to tell me to look on this page or that page in this or that manual - -and they were dead wrong! THEN I find out Haynes & Chilton are now both owned by the same company? Like I said, I have used these manuals for years, but NEVER with as much incorrect or missing info as there has been for my truck & Tahoe.

missing some info and diagrams don't match what am seeing on the truck. But this has been common with most Chilton books I've seen. Overall 90% of it is usable.

This is an irresistible journey into the mind of MÅ“bius (Jean Giraud). Originally an exercise to explore his motivations for abstaining from smoking marijuana. MÅ“bius goes to a place he calls Desert B, a cartoony world where the ordinary laws of physics of the real world don't apply. While there, he encounters some of his creations (Arzak, Blueberry, Major Grubert from "The Airtight Garage") and a younger version of himself who is disappointed with his future self. There is no denying that this is a work of great imagination. If you are a fan of Jean Giraud, then this is a must have, for sure. If you aren't familiar with his work, but like stories of simple truths told in an audacious style, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I don't often give a work the label "work of genius", but I'm tempted to with this one. A great work of art by one of the icons of the graphic novel world. Can't wait for "Inside MÅ“bius 2" to come out!

If your looking for more beautiful Mœbius artwork, similar to his work on The Incal and Edena, look elsewhere. They relate this to a sketchbook / diary of his, and you can see why with the rougher art. They make a point to classify it apart from a sketchbook, because the art is finished and colored. It does still look nice in its own way.The stand out is the brilliant story, it’s hard to explain but the story is almost an auto-biographical tale on Mœbius and his resolve to quit smoking weed and how it affects him. That doesn’t do the story justice at all, I would definitely recommend it

I enjoy the off the cuff, stream of consciousness manner in which this comic is drawn and told, but many fans of Moebius may not. It is not like his more polished and detailed work of the past. It is a journey into Jean Giraud's mind.

Excellent Dark Horse publication. Top quality. It's a series of sketches by Giraud FOR Giraud, and not originally intended for publication. You have to appreciate his self-analytic musings.

I love Moebius's work and didn't really know what to expect from this book, it's awesome. 10/10

This book is mostly the author and drawing writing about the author himself. If you are looking for more classic moebius sci-fi stories look elsewhere.

Wow, I was really disappointed! I am a Moebius nut - he can do absolutely no wrong - this is basically a colored notebook of free-form scribblings and doodles. And apparently this is part of a 6 book series? Really? Rather than a serious work from one of our greatest illustrators, this feels like a slapped together posthumously published bit of scribblings about earlier work - not very carefully drawn at that. I would recommend spending your energy on "Arzach", "Blueberry", "The Incal" - there is a lot to love and enjoy, why settle for this?

A richly and beautifully illustrated book that brings the magic of Arthurian legend to life. I love this gorgeous book!

Finely illustrated, as well as detailed in the steep of Arthurian legend.A must-have!

I am taking an Arthurian legends course this summer, so I'm using this as a companion for Le Morte 'd Arthur.

Other reviews claimed that this Encyclopedia was scholarly and exhaustive, so I purchased it to aid in my research. Not only did it NOT include characters from the less popular/canonical texts, but it had entries that were missing information, had incorrect information, used spellings of names that I have never seen elsewhere without including their variant spellings, and didn't bother to say from which texts the characters it was describing came. The complete unreliability of the Encyclopedia was such that even if it did contain an entry for a character that I needed to look up, I would be hesitant to trust what it has to say.The Encyclopedia would be a great buy for someone who has a mild interest in Arthurian legend, but is useless as a tool for a scholar. Its beautiful illustrations and designs are a saving grace--it makes a good coffee table book, but if you are looking for a book that includes correct and thorough information, I would recommend Christopher Bruce's Arthurian Names Dictionary or Norris J. Lacy's New Arthurian Encyclopedia.

I'm about 30 pages from the end of the book, and I am sorry there isn't more of the same. Mindy Kaling is quoted as calling this book "witty and entertaining," and I have to admit, that initially put me off. I mean, come on: the death of a loved one humorous? grief entertaining? But every time I picked this up, I found I didn't want to stop, not because the stories here are laugh-out-loud funny (although there are a few chuckles here), but because the writers are telling us truths about the grieving process that are perceptive, warm, heartbreakingly poignant, and just plain real. After my wife of 25 years died 17 months ago, I bought a copy of Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's "On Death and Dying," and found it of little to no consolation, because I was not the ideal audience for that book. One she later co-authored, "On Grief and Grieving," came closer to the mark, but still left me feeling no respite from my constant pain. Two more forgettable books by other authors left me wondering if anyone truly understood how difficult it is to carry on when the focal point of your daily life is... well, simply -- gone. The writings compiled here in "Modern Loss" reveal that there are indeed people out there who get it, who struggle with the same old same old every day, all the while aching with the absence of that one individual (in some cases, more than one) who could offer comfort, and solace, and balm for the hurt that often cripples us into inertia. Some of the stories here are light and even playful, but I can't read more than a dozen pages without needing a Kleenex box handy (and I cry a lot more than any other 67-year-old guy I know). I can't say I feel any lessening of my grief (and I really don't want to, to be honest; I'm not sure I'll ever get over my wife's death), but I am comforted far more than I expected to be in knowing I am not alone in undergoing this awful involuntary change in my life. There is some salty language here for readers sensitive to that, but I recommend this book VERY highly to anyone seeking assurance that yes, life after a death CAN go on.

This book changed the way I think about grief and grieving. It is fresh, funny, and genuinely useful for anyone who finds themselves grappling with complicated emotions AND the responsibility of literally dealing with the death of a loved one. A genre-buster.

Disclaimer: Gabrielle Birkner is a friend from college, but for the sake of this book, all that means is that I was aware of the site early on, and I preordered the book.This book is gorgeous. I laughed, I cried and everything in between. As a rabbi, I’ve recommended the website to countless mourners. I’ve already sent the book to friends who have grieved and are grieving; all have said they wished the book (and the site) were around when they first experienced loss. The writing is funny, profound, and deeply honest—Rebecca and Gabrielle share deeply of themselves, and elicit the same sort of emotion from the contributors. All of us will mourn and grieve at some point in our lives, and we are lucky to have these words to help guide us through.

Have a book ever been this needed? Death and loss and grief are things we all experience, and the topics we seem least able to discuss. This book provides the long overdue solution. Filled with personal stories, Modern Loss tackles it all with honesty, kindness and sometimes humor. It's a book people will return to again and again, and always be able to find some guidance and comfort.

I cannot rave more about this book if I could. Sure, it’s not exactly the most sunny topic in the world, but yet we all experience it.Rebecca and Gabi do what shouldn’t be possible, compile and write a book about death in a way that’s lets the reader both feel the pain they are reading but also see a necessary reality that is often hidden from the taboos surrounding talking about death.Trust me. You wont put this book down.

This book is the first of its kind, and it is long overdue. Finally, a book that dispenses with the conventional, cloying wisdom about grief and offers instead first-hand accounts that demonstrate the many, many ways people handle loss. As the excellent essays here reveal, we don't need to find closure or banish humor; there is not one right way to mourn; grief doesn't expire or disappear with time. I am so glad to have this book for myself but also so thrilled it exists in the world. Everyone will benefit from--and enjoy--the smart, honest writing that Birkner and Soffer have so thoughtfully assembled.

Full-disclosure: I'm lucky enough to know Rebecca Soffer and Gabrielle Birkner in real life, and I have been a Modern Loss fan from the beginning. Objectively, I can say this book is wonderful, honest, and a great read. If you're living through the whole gamut of human experience, these essays will resonate. They offer the reassurance of close friends are hilarious and wise, the ones who will whisper to you in the lonely hours that you will get through this. You'll find every type of reassurance to laugh, to cry, to wallow, and when all else fails, to chose whatever method of railing against the crappy unfairness of the universe works for you. If you don't need this book right at this moment, almost certainly someone in your life does and you might want to hang onto one for yourself as well.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. It's a diverse collection of essays about what we endure in the aftermath of losing someone we love. It includes essays by people whose names you will know (authors, athletes, television personalities) and by those you've probably never heard of but who have equally compelling stories to share. Gabrielle and Rebeca, are your guides through it all.These essays transcend geography and generation, background and relationship to the deceased, and each one is accompanied by a colorful and clever illustration. Modern Loss is a meaningful and appropriate gift for a younger adult (20s, 30s, 40s and beyond) who experienced a recent loss, is still reeling from a loss years out, or for a friend or family member trying to compassionately support someone who has experienced loss.

If you are looking to do this mainly on your own outside inside conventional class this absolutely was the wrong book for you. If that is your situation, look at Lifeprint . ComAnd check out videos walking you through research on language acquisition. Bottom line, this book follows a format that many of us are familiar with from high school language classes. It is over burdened with the grammar at the start and goes through the sentences that are not reflective of how the language is used. These types of approaches typically lead to frustration and not learning meaningful information.My biggest complaint really are the dialogue created to help you practice. Many of them are written in a fashion that is not consistent with ASL structure. Often they are overly wordy, missing how succinct and elegant the language is.

The book itself might be good but I got the kindle edition and hate it. Its very difficult to make the sign pictures large enough for me to see them and you can't print anything out so book is totally useless for me.

I recommend this book to all my friends who are serious about ASL, in particular those who are learning online and need a more formal grammar supplement to go along with their less formal learning. The principles of ASL grammar are clearly described and frequently repeated in examples, helping the student to absorb the ideas. Still pictures aren't really enough on their own, so it's best to combine this book with classroom or video instruction to understand the images, but the book helps students learn how to adapt the vocabulary they learn online to create grammatically correct phrases and stories. The grammar presented is ASL, not SEE, making this book much more trustworthy than most on the market. Examples of topics covered include classifiers, sentence structure, asking questions, negation, and time concepts.

This is the book I needed for my ASL 1 class in college. It has great information and is very easy to use. Includes signs and the ASL grammar rules in a easy to remember format. It also has information about Deaf culture, like how to get people's attention, interactions, etc. It is a must have book if you are learning to sign.

There are a lot of good signs in this set, great for use as a tool to learn ASL. I would not recommend attempting to learn it without taking a course, however. You may be able to teach yourself a few basic signs, but there is a lot more to signing than simply knowing a few words. I think instead I'll hunt around for a more comprehensive sign language course, although I may still use these to help me practice.

Bought this book in the Kindle edition and was very satisfied with its teaching. One point about it though, I was disappointed . The "Master signs" are almost impossible to see. The pictures are in "miniature" size and hard to see. I was still interested in this book, so I bought the Book also from an Amazon Vendor (Jersey Ashore) and it is just perfect. I am still reading/studying it and it is one of the best books on ASL I have found and I have many. John R

I received E-Z, American Sign language within a few days of ordering and cannot seem to put down the book. As a beginner to ASL, I am taking online classes with signing online to learn ASL and this book is the book of choice for class. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. So if anyone is contemplating purchasing a book, this is the one, even if you are learning on your own. Easy to follow, with lots of pictures and quizzes to sharpen your understanding.Good luck.

I use this book for ASL (level 3) and the lessons are easy to understand. It does a great job of giving some background to the sign as well as sections about technology, history, and much more. For the classroom, this book cannot be beat!

Both of Kim Cameron's books on Positive Organizational Scholarship are outstanding. As someone who teaches and presents on positive psychology I think I've read every book on positive psychology and this book is among the best. He presents the theory behind the research as well as the research clearly and without superfluous chatter. This book is a straight forward, easy read that provides very practical strategies for how to engage in positive leadership within an organization as well as chapter preceding that define each of the concepts put forth therein. I strongly recommend this book as one of the best I've read on positive psychology.

A great book by a great researcher and writer. The premise of this fine book is that certain positive strategies empirically demonstrate that positive leadership produces physiological, cognitive, emotional, productivity and financial advantages for people and companies. Cameron bases his findings on emerging fields of positive organizational scholarship, positive psychology, and positive change. He provides grounded advice for leaders about how positive leadership is heliotropic—that we move toward light, warmth, and positive energy and away from darkness and negativity. A key concept of the book is positive deviance—positive intentional behaviors that produce extraordinary results, “…thriving, flourishing, even virtuous performance, or achieving the best of the human condition.” (loc 199, kindle). Positive deviance (positive organizational effects) are enabled by four positive leadership strategies: cultivating a positive climate, positive relationships, positive communication, and positive meaning.

Scientific proof shows how positive emotions enables people to think more broadly, quicker, and more accurate - leading organizations to having greater creativity, more capable and collaborative people, better and faser decisions and a greater competitive edge.I rated this book only 4, instead of 5 stars, not for anything wrong. I felt is was a bit short and could've provided more on this important topic that needs to receive much more attention in the business community.

I work with scientist and health care providers. and this group expects references to support proposed hypothesis. Dr. Cameron provides the references in a well-constructed methodology with easy to follow prose. I am not saying the principles are simple to implement, they take (will take) work, focus and consistent application. My next step is to have my staff read the book and ultimately my entire team.

Kim Cameron presents the research behind Positive Leadership in an easy-to-read and understand manner, formatting the book around the different pieces of Positive Leadership. Although a quick read, the book is chalked full of valuable information for anyone interested in learning more about the field or brushing up on their own leadership skills.

I enjoyed this book using for class because it was not long winded. Provided good examples and easy reading. Would recommend this book.
